RNase Substrates RNase Substrates are a collection of four fluorescent dual-labeled oligonucleotide probes that can be used to quantitatively or qualitatively detect RNase activity with any base specificity. Intact probes are dark (quenched) while cleaved probes are bright (unquenched). Assays are rapid, quantitative over time, inexpensive, and do not involve the use of radioactive or otherwise hazardous reagents. Each substrate contains only a single ribonucleotide residue: rU, rC, rA or rG1-2.
