Original contest details:

Starting on DNA Day 2018 (April 25), we will be holding a social media photo/video contest. The theme of this year’s contest is the creative repurposing of IDT product packaging. We have recently been inspired by the clever ways our customers have reused the packaging from their IDT orders. Now it’s your turn! What interesting contraption can you make from IDT product packaging? Can you decorate your lab with IDT product packaging in some new and inventive way? How about DNA origami? See some wonderful examples shared by our customers below.

How to participate:

Simply share an original photograph or video of your creation on Instagram or Twitter, and use the hashtag #idtdnaday. You can tag IDT in your submission, too. Our handle on both platforms is @idtdna.

To be eligible, you must submit your photo or video by 11:59 P.M. CDT (UTC–5) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.

Judging:

Submissions will be judged on a combination of creativity, quality, and ingenuity. On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, we will announce 3 winners, who will receive a prize of their choosing from the offered options.

    Open only to individuals 18 years or older. Void where prohibited by law.
  2. By submitting your original photo or video, you agree to receive emails from IDT containing offers and developments that we think may interest you. You will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe to every email that we send.
  3. Prizes and odds of winning
    3 winners will be selected from all eligible entrants. Each of the 3 winners can select 1 of the following themed prizes: Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones (Approximate Retail Value, $129.99), Amazon Echo Plus (Approximate Retail Value, $149.99), or Apple TV 32 GB (Approximate Retail Value, $149.00). Prizes may not be transferred or redeemed for cash. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  4. How to enter
    • Share an original photo on Instagram and/or Twitter and tag the photo using the hashtag #idtdnaday.
    • Entry period begins at 12:01 A.M. (CDT) on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 and ends at 11:59 P.M. (CDT) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
    • Only one entry per person will be allowed.
  5. Judging criteria
    IDT Judges will determine 3 winners based on a combination of the following criteria (all decisions are final):
    • Creativity
    • Quality
    • Ingenuity
  6. Prize delivery and taxes
    IDT will coordinate with the winners to arrange for shipment of the prizes. All shipping costs will be at IDT’s expense. Taxes (federal, state, and local) are the winner’s sole responsibility.
  7. Release
    The entrant hereby releases Instagram and Twitter from all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, and liability whatsoever that may exist relating to or arising out of conduct or events relating to this promotion.
