IDT has proudly offered custom LNA oligos for its customers for more than 5 years under a license from Exiqon A/S. Recently, IDT was informed of a change to the structure of its license that will affect our LNA product offering. Beginning on August 15, 2009, IDT will manufacture and sell LNA oligos directly to our customers only as a part of our LNA Dual Labeled Probe product offering. IDT's LNA dual labeled probes are, and will continue to be, the only LNA probes licensed by both Exiqon and Applied Biosystems for use in the 5' Nuclease Assay in research applications. IDT will continue to manufacture a very broad menu of custom LNA oligos on multiple scales and with various other modifications and purification services. Those custom LNA oligos can be ordered through Exiqon A/S at the following website (http://www.exiqon.com/ls). Exiqon will sell and support those IDT-manufactured LNA oligos through the Exiqon website. IDT is confident that Exiqon's unique experience as the owner and developer of LNA technology will translate into superior technical support for LNA specific applications for IDT's customers going forward. IDT is always reluctant to disrupt established customer relationships, and in this case the decision to discontinue the direct sale of certain custom LNA oligos was not made by IDT. However, we are confident that our customers will enjoy the benefits of interacting directly with Exiqon in enhancing their LNA-based research, while still enjoying all the benefits of IDT's expertise in custom LNA oligo manufacturing.

When is the last day I can order custom LNA oligos from IDT?

Beginning on August 15th 2009, IDT will no longer sell custom LNA oligonucleotides, with the exception of LNA Dual Labeled Probes. All orders for custom LNA oligonucleotides will need to be purchased through Exiqon.

Will IDT offer any LNA oligos after the transition date?

IDT has retained the right to sell LNA oligos as part of its LNA Dual Labeled Probe product offering. IDT's LNA dual labeled probes are, and will continue to be, the only LNA probes licensed by both Exiqon and Applied Biosystems for use in the 5' Nuclease Assay in research applications. All other custom LNA oligonucleotides must be purchased through Exiqon.

How will my custom LNA oligo quote be affected by the transition?

Due to the change in licensing agreements, IDT will no longer be able to sell custom LNA oligonucleotides, with the exception of LNA Dual Labeled Probes, directly to customers. Therefore, all custom LNA oligo quotations for products other than LNA dual labeled probes will be terminated on the transition date.

Will the price I pay for custom LNA oligos change after the transition?

Will Exiqon be able to offer the same custom LNA oligonucleotide products that are available today from IDT?
|
Exiqon will offer a broad menu of custom LNA oligos on various scales with many modifications and services. The majority of scales, modifications and services offered by IDT today will be available from the Exiqon. However, due to different licensing arrangements, there are some modifications that may not be available from Exiqon that are available from IDT today. Exiqon and IDT have teamed up to ensure that there is a process for handling these types of orders in the future. If a modification is required for your LNA-based research that is not available from Exiqon, please contact Exiqon or IDT customer service for information on this process.

Will the quality of my LNA custom oligos be the same after the transition?

IDT will continue to manufacture a broad range of custom LNA oligos for Exiqon. Therefore the quality of products manufactured will remain unchanged.
