Can the low pH of the water cause depurination of the DNA?

There is a possibility of some degradation due to low pH if Milipore or Barnstead water was used because the pH for these types of water is usually around 5.  In general, we recommend storing your oligos either lyophilized or resuspended in TE (10 mM Tris pH 8.0, 0.1 mM EDTA) or HPLC-grade water at -20°C.
