What is an optimal size of an amplified PCR product? (minimum-maximum)

Unless you're doing real-time PCR, there is no optimal length. You will need to adjust your conditions to ensure there is enough time for the polymerase to copy the target.  The general rule of thumb is 1 minute/kb of amplicon. You will also need to optimize your reagent concentrations depending on the length of the amplicon.
