The xGen® Human ID Research Panel provides genomic target enrichment for a definitive set of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) selected to identify a unique individual from a population of over 5 million biological samples. The panel has been tested with DNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues, cell-free DNA (cfDNA), and other sample types.
This panel captures 76 distinct, highly polymorphic sites using 229 individually synthesized xGen Lockdown® Probes. The xGen Human ID Research Panel can be combined with any xGen Lockdown Panel or custom xGen Lockdown Probe set. When spiked into another target capture panel, the xGen Human ID Research Panel provides high on-target performance and coverage uniformity. Panels of various sizes have demonstrated no compromise of data with the addition of this panel. The Human ID Research Panel can also be run as a standalone* panel to confirm sample identity before performing larger, more expensive sequencing studies.
Use the xGen Human ID Research Panel to:
- Identify tumor/normal paired samples
- Track and manage individual samples during longitudinal studies
- Detect sample misidentification
Unlike other target capture reagents, xGen Lockdown Probes are individually column-synthesized, and then quality controlled by ESI mass spectrometry. Additionally, predesigned xGen Lockdown Panels are functionally validated to ensure consistent and reliable results. This extra attention to quality delivers high on-target performance and coverage uniformity.

* The xGen Human ID Research Panel contains a relatively small number of probes. When used as a standalone panel, expect lower on-target capture results than when used as a spike in to a larger panel. This reduced performance is typical of small panels in hybridization capture enrichment.
